Discover how to embrace life’s tests, renew your mind through Jeremiah 17:9–10, and partner with God for true healing and growth.

Hey there, friends! Today, I want to talk about something that really hit me during my morning devotion. I was reading a passage from Jeremiah 17:9-10, and I just felt this nudge from the Holy Spirit to share. It's not something I do every day, but I think it might resonate with some of you.

The Heart and the Mind

The scripture I read says, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. Who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings." What I felt God saying through this was twofold: "Don't follow your heart" and "Embrace the test."

Recently, I've been dealing with some tough stuff—a real emotional rollercoaster. It's like I'm stuck in these thought loops, dwelling on things from the past that shouldn't even be affecting my present. And it's exhausting.

A Cry for Change

I've been asking God to take these feelings and thoughts away. In my heart, I heard Him say, "You prayed for me to renew your mind, and I'm answering." That made me ponder more on the message of testing our minds.

Why the Test Matters

Just like how a doctor diagnoses before treating, the same goes for our minds and souls. A test is necessary to reveal what’s hidden and needs healing. But what happens when the results of life's tests reveal things like self-condemnation or resentment? We often ignore them, right?

God's message to me was clear—don't shy away from these tests. Instead, take a good look at what's being uncovered. Once I began voicing what I was going through, I asked God for the next steps toward healing.

Our Part in the Healing

Healing isn't just a passive process. Just like following a doctor’s treatment plan, we have to partner with God in our healing journey. That means staying in the Word, praying, being in community, and doing what He guides us to do.

We need to embrace the tests, understand the results, and do our bit to follow through on His instructions.

Conclusion: Being Committed

If you’re feeling like life’s a bit too much right now, I hope my sharing helps even a little. I pray that God gives you the courage to face what’s challenging and to find peace as you grow through it.

  2. When negative thoughts or emotions surface, do you tend to run from them or invite God into them?
